Although I'm usually inclined to get Batgirl statues as they're released, I was not in a rush for this one.  Just about everyone in the statue-collecting community commented that it looks like Supergirl is in the middle of killing Batgirl.  Furthermore, Batgirl isn't even facing Supergirl, which makes for a rather ignominious death.  Some "celebration", huh?

What's frustrating is that artist Ant Lucia has released two sketches showing preliminary designs for the diorama.  In both versions, Supergirl isn't facing Batgirl, so they appear to be fighting as a team on a battlefield.  The final version combines Batgirl from Concept 1 with Supergirl from Concept 2.

DC Collectibles has been known to make changes to statues after unveiling prototypes at industry events, and they really should've turned Supergirl's head the other way before moving into the production phase.

Quick edit using MS Paint

If you're going to buy this (either for yourself or someone else), please be aware that the box is quite big and heavy.  The dimensions are 22 inches by 14.5 inches by 10.5 inches, and it weights 10 pounds.  The base is roughly 10 inches by 9 inches.  When fully assembled, the statue is about 15.5 inches tall.  The Styrofoam brick even has handles instead of only notches to help you remove it from the box.

Neither character is standing/lying straight, so I did the best that I could with measuring from the bottom of their heels (not the boot heels) to the tops of their heads.  Supergirl is clearly 1/7-scale, but Batgirl seems to be almost a scale smaller (or only 5'3" "in real life"), even though their heads are about the same size.  Oddly, Batgirl doesn't look that much smaller than the previous, individual purple Batgirl.

The base is a custom battlefield design instead of the usual Bombshells "industrial" circle.  Supergirl's left boot is attached to a column of rising smoke.  Her left thigh has a metal peg that can be inserted into the boot.  (Mine arrived with a stress fracture in the left thigh.)  The scarf and laser beams are slightly pliable (probably to help avoid breakage during transit).  The base is heavy enough so that Supergirl can be displayed by herself without danger of toppling.

Batgirl is one piece and has a metal peg in her right foot.  Just for kicks, I took pictures of Batgirl on the base without Supergirl.

Here's what the statue looks like fully assembled.  On the off chance that someone wants to argue that Supergirl is shooting someone beyond Batgirl, I used my measuring tape to follow the laser beams' trajectory.  Sure enough, they're pointed right at Batgirl's head.

I also tried posing Batgirl on one of the Bombshells' usual "industrial" circles.  (I borrowed the stand-alone purple Batgirl's base.)

Honestly, both Batgirl and Supergirl look quite nice individually.  QC is commendable, even on difficult-to-paint areas of Batgirl's costume.  Engineering is solid.

However, since Supergirl's head is facing the "wrong" way, I won't be displaying them together.  I will get a wood block from a hobby shop and make a separate base for Batgirl.  That way Supergirl can execute someone who actually deserves it.
