I wanted a "civilian" version of Kate Kane to display alongside my re-purposing of Rock Candy figures as DC Comics characters.  I had already decided on using Astronaut Barbie's head for both Kate and Beth since they're twin sisters.  Although Batwoman has long "hair" when she's in costume, the "hair" is actually a wig that's part of her cowl.  Her hair is much shorter when she's a civilian, from shoulder-length all the way down to a buzz cut.

Rebirth

I made a custom Red Alice/Beth Kane first because I had a tough time deciding what body to use for Kate.  I almost used Jessica Jones but decided that it would be a waste to cut the neck since the spring-mounted bobbleheads can be removed cleanly.

I decided to use Comfy Princess Elsa since it'd be easy to paint over the light-blue areas with red.  Plus, my local Target store was clearancing her for $2.99.  ^_^  I picked the one in worst condition (noticeable gaps in the hair) and got to work.  The snow/ice in her left hand can be easily removed (I recommend pliers for a clean break).  You can re-paint the hand or glue another accessory there.

Once you remove Elsa's head, you'll notice that the body has blue-colored bra/shoulder straps.  I used a Sharpie to color them black.

Kate Kane has dated Renee Montoya and Maggie Sawyer, both police detectives.  I'm using Lara Croft as Renee Montoya and the Thirteenth Doctor as Maggie Sawyer.

In the DC Universe, there's also a Bette Kane, who has been both Hawkfire and Flamebird.  She's cousins with Kate and Beth Kane.  I'm using Superstar Barbie for Bette Kane.

DC Comics Red Alice (Beth Kane, Batwoman's twin sister)

As I gathered information about all the Funko Rock Candy figures that have been released, I realized that the Monster High Draculaura has clothing similar to what Red Alice wears in the comics.  Her umbrella handle is even in the shape of a bat!

I used MS Paint to create a crude mock-up.  After studying how Rock Candy heads could be removed from their bodies, I decided that cutting them with a knife was better than using brute force.  (I recommend doing this after you've put the figures in an opaque cardboard box and let them sit outside in the afternoon sun for a few hours.  This softens the plastic and makes it easier to handle.)
