As a group, the Cover Girls by Joelle Jones are my favorite set of themed statues.  Therefore, I'm rather sad that there will be only two more to go after Black Canary (Helena Bertinelli Huntress and Wedding Dress Catwoman).  Artist Frank Cho and sculptor Jonathan Matthews are in charge of Wave 5 starting in February, and I've already decided to pass on their collaborations based on the solicited protos for Batgirl and Supergirl.  (Supergirl's face sculpt in particular looks gross to me.)

I got this statue a couple of weeks ago but returned it because it was defective.  The back of the left sleeve on the jacket was chipped near the shoulder.  The right thumb had too much paint.

A replacement arrived today, and while I have some quibbles with it, I've accepted that it'll be my least favorite Joelle Jones Cover Girl.  Hey, I like it more than the Bombshells Black Canary and Artgerm Cover Girl, lol.

I'm surprised that the hair doesn't have much detail since the Artgerm Black Canary's hair did, and Jack Mathews sculpted both statues.  The leather straps on the jacket and the shoelace ends on the boots are made of plastic.  They have some "give", though I'd avoid playing with them lest they fall off the statue.

Black Canary looks like she'd be about 9.5- to 9.75-inches tall if she were standing straight.  This translates to a real-world height between 5'6" and 5'8".  She seems small next to Joelle Jones's Wonder Woman and Mera, though those characters are often depicted as being taller than most other women.

If you're a fan of Black Canary for whatever reason, I think you should get this statue.  However, I suggest seeing her in person at a store if possible to ensure that you get a decent copy.
