The Bombshells are one of DC's most popular and enduring statue lines.  Unfortunately, several of them were manufactured at factories with low QC standards.  The first Batwoman was notorious for being the worst of the entire series.  Paint apps were astonishingly sloppy, the bill of the baseball cap was frequently glued so far to the right that there was a "gap" in the hair, and odd bulges appeared on various body parts.

When DC announced an Away Team Variant, StatueForum.com members who had avoided the first version were cautiously optimistic about finally adding Batwoman to their collections.  I planned on getting it since I'm a fan of most Gotham-based characters.  Unfortunately, I think DC used the same factory that made the first version (since it already had the molds), and the build quality is actually even worse with the second attempt.  On some copies, too much of the tip of the baseball bat was removed when the bat logo was carved.

I've bought/returned multiple copies of this statue and looked at several different ones in physical stores.  All of them have a cauliflower left ear.  (Compare with the left ear on the first version.)

Well, I finally got an "okay" copy, so here's my compare/contrast with the first version.  The boxes are the same size, and even the Styrofoam bricks were manufactured identically.  Physically, the statues are identical, too, though the Away Team Variant has only one peg (in the right foot).  The paint app is generally better than the first effort, though the black trim is sloppy in various areas.  I used a small knife to scrape away excess red paint on the arms near the sleeves.
